This summer we spent a week in a private camp within Lake Clark National Park. The park is located across the Cook Inlet from the Kenai Peninsula. It offers great brown bear viewing in a very quiet and remote setting, much more like McNeil River versus Brooks Falls.

We were fortunate to see 6-7 family groups of mammas and cubs over 5 days. and in a variety of locales and activities. A highlight was watching the bears digging for clams. They also grazed on sedge grass for most of the day, waiting on the salmon run that comes in August.
